Myrtle Avenue Bird Town

Myrtle Avenue Bird Town (MABT) was a habitat in Fort Greene created for native birds funded by Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership. MABT included a collection of over fifty birdhouses and feeders. It was created to educate local residents about their animal neighbors and involve them in city parks and green spaces.

The birdhouses and feeders were constructed with natural, recycled, and found materials in new and innovative ways, reconsidering the shapes traditionally associated with the birdhouse.

The installation was located at two sites: Fort Greene Park at Myrtle Avenue and St. Edwards Street and Person Park at Myrtle Avenue and Carlton Avenue.

OMG! Here's a video of me presenting the project at Hobby by Harvest:

OMG BIRDS!

Note: My partner on this project lagged in renewing the domain, hence the link to the ever awesome Way Back Machine instead of the original MABT site.
